Playing poker is generally prohibited in Islam, especially if played for money, as it is considered gambling, which is expressly forbidden. Even if no money is involved, poker is still discouraged by many scholars due to its reliance on conjecture and guesswork, similar to playing with dice, which is also prohibited.
