The scholars agreed that it is haraam to wear taweez (amulets) if they are made with anything other than the Quran, but they differed concerning those that are made with the Quran. Taweez must not contain any words of shirk (associating partners with Allah) or incomprehensible wordings (if it contains symbols, mumbo-jumbo, and strange words that cannot be understood, then there is scholarly consensus that it is haraam and constitutes shirk). The view that it is not allowed is more likely to be correct because of the general meaning of the ahaadeeth, and to prevent the means that may lead to shirk. It is important to seek protection through Allah’s words and permissible means within Shariah.
And Allah knows best.
