Sunset Yellow FCF (E110) is generally considered halal when used as a 100% dry color. However, if used as a liquid color, the solvent must also be halal. This synthetic yellow coloring is mushbooh (doubtful) if the solvent is not specified. As a chemical dye, it is halal in its dry powder form, with only 2% of it being insoluble in water.
