The term “Sufism” refers to a spiritual movement within Islam known as “Tasawwuf,” which aims to deepen the spiritual relationship between a Muslim and Allah. The practices within Sufism are not automatically approved or condemned by Islamic law (Shariah); they are judged based on their adherence to the Quran and Sunnah.
If a Sufi practice aligns with the Quran and Sunnah, it is considered halal (permissible). However, if a practice deviates from these criteria or introduces innovations (bidah) that contradict Islamic teachings, it is considered haram (forbidden). It’s essential to evaluate specific Sufi practices and beliefs to determine their permissibility in Islam.
And Allah knows best.
