Singing is permissible in Islam if the lyrics are free of blasphemy, inappropriate content, and exaggeration. It should not be performed in a manner resembling that of immoral or promiscuous people. However, music and singing accompanied by musical instruments are generally considered haram based on Islamic teachings.
