Yes, all kinds of seafood are generally considered halal in Islam. According to Islamic teachings, all sea animals are permissible to eat, whether they are alive or dead, as stated in the Quran and Hadith. The Quran says, “Lawful to you is the pursuit of water-game and its use for food” (Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:96), and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Its water is pure and its dead are lawful (to eat)” (reported by Ahmad and Ibn Majah).
However, some scholars recommend avoiding certain sea animals that resemble prohibited land animals, such as crocodiles, frogs, otters, and turtles, as a precaution.
