Romano cheese can be either halal or haram, depending on the production process and ingredients used. The key factor is the source of the rennet, which is traditionally derived from the stomach lining of young calves. If the rennet is obtained from an animal slaughtered according to Shari’ah, the cheese is considered halal.
To ensure you are consuming halal Romano cheese, look for a halal certification label on the packaging. If there is no such label, it is best to check the ingredients and production process or avoid the product.
And Allah knows best.
