Real estate investment and working as a real estate agent are generally considered halal in Islam if the activities involved adhere to Islamic principles. This includes:

• Conducting all activities ethically and morally, avoiding unlawful or unethical means such as deceit or fraud.
• Ensuring that profits are not earned through prohibited activities like dealing in riba (interest), gambling, or facilitating the sale of haram items (e.g., alcohol).
• Having pure intentions that align with Islamic principles.
• Avoiding facilitation of deals if the agent knows the property will be used for haram purposes.

The basic principle is that it is permissible to work as a real estate agent, selling or renting out properties and receiving payment for that from both parties or one of them, unless the agent is helping clients in doing something that is haram. If the agent is aware that the purpose of the deal is haram, it is not permissible to help in that in return for a fee or otherwise.
