Explanation: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not advise young people to engage in masturbation (known as “al-‘ada al-sirriya” or “secret habit”). Instead, he encouraged marriage or fasting as a means to control desires. Many scholars consider masturbation harmful, leading to physical and psychological damage, and therefore, they regard it as impermissible.
The majority of scholars, including the Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali schools of thought, view masturbation as haram (forbidden). They emphasize its harmful effects and the fact that it is not a natural way to fulfill one’s desires.
