Hypnosis involves inducing a state of intense concentration or focused attention, which may resemble sleep, but the person remains fully aware of their surroundings. The permissibility of hypnosis in Islam depends on the method and intent behind its use.

    Prohibited Uses:

    1. Involving Jinn: Seeking the help of jinn during hypnosis is considered shirk (polytheism) as it involves relying on entities other than Allah for knowledge of the unseen or for assistance.
    2. Magical Practices: Hypnosis conducted by magicians using jinn, which involves shirk or associating partners with Allah, is strictly forbidden.
    3. Deception: Using hypnosis to deceive or exploit people for financial gain is not permissible.

    Permissible Uses:

    1. Psychiatry: Hypnotherapy aimed at mental health treatment, where it helps in improving or curing psychological issues, is allowed as long as it does not involve anything contrary to Islamic values.
    2. Guided Contemplation: Hypnosis under the guidance of a knowledgeable and spiritual Shaykh for self-improvement and spiritual growth is permissible.

    Conclusion:

Hypnosis is permissible in Islam if used ethically and for beneficial purposes, such as mental health treatment, without involving shirk, magical practices, or deception. Consulting a qualified and trustworthy therapist who adheres to Islamic principles is essential.

    And Allah knows best.
