Yes, chocolate liquor is halal. ‘Chocolate Liquor’ refers to pure cocoa, not alcohol, and is also known as cocoa mass, cocoa paste, or unsweetened chocolate. This has been confirmed by manufacturers. However, ‘Liqueur Chocolates’ which contain alcohol are not halal, regardless of the source of the alcohol. Similarly, the ‘Chocolate Liqueur’ alcoholic drink is not halal. Chocolate liquor does not contain any alcohol; it is made from cocoa beans that have fermented, and thus, it is halal.
