Cheddar cheese can be either halal or haram depending on the ingredients and production process. Cheddar cheese is made with milk, salt, rennet, and a bacteria culture. If the rennet used is from an animal that was not slaughtered according to Islamic law, the cheese is considered haram. However, if the rennet is plant-based, microbial, or from an animal slaughtered according to Shari’ah, then the cheese is halal.
And Allah knows best.
