In Islam, while expressing love between a husband and wife is encouraged, public displays of affection, such as hugging, are generally discouraged. These gestures are considered private and should be reserved for more private settings. Holding hands in a caring manner is often accepted in societies that view it as a sign of affection rather than sexuality.
And Allah knows best.
