Yes, prawns are considered halal. This is supported by general Quranic verses and hadiths that permit the consumption of all sea animals. For instance, Allah says in the Quran: “Lawful to you is the pursuit of water-game and its use for food” (Quran 5:96). Additionally, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said about the sea: “Its water is pure and its dead are lawful (to eat)” (Narrated by Ahmad, al-Nasa’i, and Ibn Majah).
